Kyphosis is a condition characterised by a forward curvature of the spine in the back. Usually symptoms include difficulty in standing upright, stiffness and pain in the shoulders. External degeneration of the spine, trauma and congenital abnormalities are among the causes of kyphosis. Usually the diagnosis is based on physical examination and radiological tests.

Treatment of kyphosis includes manual therapy applications, electrotherapy agents, kinesiotape taping, regular exercises, correct posture techniques and sometimes the use of a kyphosis brace. In advanced cases, surgical intervention may be required.
