Heel spur is a condition that develops as a result of injury to the thick tissue band under the sole of the foot called plantarfacia. Over time, calcium accumulation may occur under the heel bone due to this injury, which is called heel spur. Factors such as prolonged standing, overweight, use of wrong shoes are among the risk factors. Symptoms include a sharp pain, which is usually felt when getting up in the morning. Usually the diagnosis is made by taking a medical history and physical examination, radiological imaging can sometimes help with the diagnosis.
