Tennis elbow is a condition also known as lateralepicondylitis. This condition is caused by injury and inflammation of the tendons on the outside of the elbow. It can be caused by frequent repetitive strenuous movements, unexpected blows or overuse. Although tennis elbow is common in tennis players, it can occur in people of all ages and occupations. Pain on the outer edge of the elbow, a feeling of weakness and difficulty gripping are among the symptoms. The diagnosis is usually made by physical examination and imaging tests may rarely be required.
WHY ROMMER?
In general, treatment can be summarised as rest, physiotherapy applications, medical treatment and various tendon injections. In physical therapy applications, manual therapy (trigger point therapy and connective tissue mobilisation) methods are applied. According to the needs of the person, stretching and strengthening exercises, electrotherapy applications, ESWT, cold applications, bandaging and orthosis use are included in the programme. Movements that trigger pain and damage the tendon in daily life are identified and regulated by experienced physiotherapists with patient training.
